Description:

Over three and a half days, we’ll explore the material, structure, composition, value, and anatomy of the human head—starting with a half-day of theory, followed by extensive drawing from various live models. You’ll receive individual guidance and corrections tailored to your level and goals. This workshop is ideal for both beginners and advanced artists looking to deepen their understanding of portraiture and improve their drawing skills.

Beyond simply copying what we see, the focus will be on understanding: learning to recognize structure, building a visual memory, and training the eye to see relationships and hierarchies. The goal isn’t to produce flawless drawings in this course, but to learn—through repetition, experimentation, and sometimes failure. You’ll be encouraged to step outside your comfort zone, question habits, and try new ways of seeing and drawing. If you leave with something new that shifts the way you see or draw, then the workshop has done its job.
