Gregory Mortenson obtained his art degree at the Southern Virginia University. He studied life drawing & painting with Boston School Painter Patrick Devonas and classical realist William Whitaker. In 2006 he studied with Jacob Collins at the Grand Central Academy of Art (GCA). He was featured in various art magazines and is a recipient of several prestigious awards including the 2018 Best in Show Award by the Art Renewal Center. Gregory has gallery representation in California, Maine, Massachusetts and Tennessee and has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions. He currently teaches portrait drawing / painting at GCA and offers a summer course at the Center for Academic Study and Naturalistic Painting in Utah.
