This workshop will offer an insight to the traditional academic methods of oil painting by observation.

The focus will be on painting a human head and the nude figure because these are some of the most challenging subjects and therefore the most instructive. Other areas will be covered as well, such as brands of paint, oils and other mediums and different types of canvas. Discussions about drawing aspects as well as color will be held daily via demonstrations and individual critiques. Optional mediums to work with are : oil paint, charcoal on toned paper and pencil. Partial studies of the nude model are also possible.

In addition to the individual critiques, painting and flesh tone mixing demonstrations will be held to help clarify the method . All levels are welcome .
